Additionally, they will learn about the specific challenges and considerations unique to oral wounds. **Evaluate the Impact of Bioburden and Pain on Oral Wound Healing:** Participants will examine the role of bioburden in oral wound healing, understanding the difference between infection and critical colonization. They will also study how pain and discomfort affect wound healing through mechanisms such as vasoconstriction and the stress response. The objective is to highlight the importance of addressing microbial load and pain for optimal wound care. **Explore Safe and Effective Wound Dressing Materials for Intraoral Use:** Participants will be introduced to new advancements in intraoral wound dressings, focusing on materials that are both effective and safe to swallow. They will learn about the benefits of natural ingredients like acemannan, essential oils, and xylitol in promoting healing, providing pain relief, and protecting wounds from contamination. The course will cover the formulation and application of a new oral hydrogel wound dressing designed for use in dental practice.
